The topic (late know) for this week is Perfection. My card will definitely be based on my new grandson! How fitting a challenge for this week! Today for me perfection is defined in one new tiny bundle, my brand new grandson Chile who was born on Easter Monday!
For my card I used a photo transfer technique with gel medium of a pic of him when he was only five minutes old and then I used and overlay that is bordered with the word 'love'. I topped it off with the chipboard saying 'simply perfect'and a blue ribbon!

This week's prompt is goal of the week.
What is your personal goal for this week? Mine is to finally take the time to go and try out this massage bed that a friend of mine was telling me about that may help to relieve some of my spinal pain. There is always hope....
The verse on the front reads:
Hope is the thing with feathers- That perches in the soul-And sings the tune without the words-And never stops at all.

This week's prompt is "junk mail".
Use junk mail in your creation. Have fun!!!
Earlier this week I was at my daughter's babysitting my grandson and I found this junk mail advertising children's toys and I loved the quote! My little grandson created my background print with some felt markers and ink pads and I love how it turned out!

OK...I did my bit for the environment and I've gone green. Ever since I starting teaching prenatal classes I have been sharing with my clients the cloth vs. disposable diaper information. I always used cloth diapers on my children, and now that I am a Nana, I finally made some cloth diapers for my grand babies when they come to visit. Here are some facts for your perusal:
Benefits of Cloth Diapers
* Single-use life cycle of disposable diapers perpetuate their continued consumption, causing undue stress on our natural resources.
* the USA consumes an estimated 27.4 billion disposable diapers per year
* over 92% of all single-use diapers end up in a landfill
* over 300lbs. of wood and 50lbs. of petroleum feedstocks are used to produce disposable diapers for ONE baby EACH year.
* disposable diapers are not really biodegradeable which is why it is estimated that they take 250-500 years to decompose
* in 1991, an attempt to recycle disposable diapers was deemed economically unfeasible
* cotton diapers are not single-use diapers
* a family can expect to reuse cloth diapers 50 to 200 times before reusing them as rags

I have been baking bread everyday for about 2 weeks now and it is so easy. It is baked at a high temperature (475-500 degrees) in an oven safe vessel. I use my old clay baker from the 70's and it works perfectly. I use the absolutely No Knead method shown here at Breadtopia. You just throw four items into a bowl and with no kneading at you end up with perfection.
I first started with a plain white bread but the one in the picture is whole wheat, steel cut oats and sunflowers and we love it!!!
This week's challenge is "Celebrating Daughters".
This challenge also marks our halfway point!! woo hooo for us!!!!
Your stack of cards must be looking pretty awesome right now.
I am so blessed to be extremely close to both my mother and my daughter and I will never take those relationships for granted!
